Cottage Reflections Term 4 Week 8

Washing, Sorting and Classifying

Today the water trough became a washing centre with all the children taking turns to wash, then sort and classify the different toys that needed cleaning. This was a great sensory and gross / fine motor activity as the children played in the suds and used the wash cloths to carefully clean each toy. They
then sorted the toys into groups ready to be put away for next year.

Celebrations

Today we had so many celebrations in Cottage. The C-2 Celebration Assembly was AMAZING! We celebrated our December birthdays with cakes and cookies.
Mrs Hincksman, Mrs Whiley and I would like to thank you for the most beautiful card and for each little message from you all. Thank you as well for your kind words this morning and our flowers and gifts. It has been a fantastic year full of laughter, wonder and joy.

Special Visitors Today

Today we had Sue and Jackie visit us in Cottage. They brought calico bags for us to decorate with fabric paint. Next week the bags will be finished by Jackie and Sue for everyone to take home. A big thank-you to these amazing grandparents for organising this. The children thought carefully about what they wanted to paint and soon their bags were filled with colourful pictures. A perfect activity for a very wet Wednesday.

Last chance to order Scholastic books and last chance to borrow books from the Learning Hub in 2018.

Last chance to order books through Scholastic is Monday 26 November and last chance to borrow before the end of term is week 7. 
Library books will need to be returned the following week, at the latest by Thursday 6 December 2018.

Buddy Letters

Today the children delivered their letters to Year 5. The Year buddies were very excited and opened their letters straight away. We had a lovely time playing outside in the warm air.
