Engineering and Coding in Cottage- Building a Bridge for the Beebots

Friday's Open Music Lesson

Our Music lesson today was lots of fun with our parents and friends coming to visit. Mrs Burt was
again amazed at how the children participated in their lesson. She that the parents and younger siblings joined in as well.

 

Working with Kindergarten: Coding Robotics

Today we went to the Kindergarten classrooms to learn about how to program the Beebot robots. We took our coding mat to show Kindergarten what we had been learning about, during our inquiry unit about drones. Kindergarten then showed us how to code the Beebots and we took turns to create a program, pretending to be the Beebots. Then we worked in small groups taking turns to program the Beebots to move around the tables.

Open Music Lesson

Today the children really enjoyed having their parents and special guests come to their music 
lesson. Looking at the photos I'm not sure who had the most fun!

Cottage Reflections Week 10

For the past three weeks the children have continued to look at shape and colour during their Art lessons with Mrs Browne. They have looked at the oval, circle and triangle shapes they could see on different types of dinosaurs. They then created the dinosaurs using different techniques. The children drew the dinosaurs with markers, used play dough to print dinosaur footprints and then painted dinosaurs using their fingers.
