A Windy Day

Despite the wind and rain we managed to get outside for a play today. We took the balls, hoops and butterfly wings into The Valley for a run around and play. It was fun running around catching our hats as they blew off our heads.
 

Music Time - Week 8

In Music, we are continuing our journey through the Eric Carle book 'Brown bear, brown bear, what do you see?'

Today, Brown Bear spotted a white dog and we enjoyed singing and dancing to 'Bow Wow Wow'. We played a singing game called 'Doggy, Doggy, where's your bone?' - all our sleeping doggies managed to use their detective ears to find their stolen bone!

We finished today's lesson with one of our favourites - 5 Little Ducks. You'll notice in the video that we are already developing important ensemble skills, playing, singing and listening together.
 

The Nature Detectives

Today we went to the library and we found lots of information books about birds. We looked at the books we had found, only borrowing books that had information about nests.
We then went out into The Valley to find natural materials to make a nest. We found sticks. acorns. leaves, feathers, twigs, nettles and paper bark.
We sorted our materials into different groups and estimated which group of materials was the biggest. After deciding together as a class that the stick circle had the most materials in it, we lined them up and counted 88 sticks!
