Can you see what I see?

Over the past few weeks we have been watching a native minor bird build a nest. The children have been very interested, watching the little bird add sticks and feathers to the nest. This week we noticed the bird sitting on her nest for extended periods of time.
I decided to create a bird watching centre for the children to look at the birds and make observations. We used binoculars to watch the birds and then shared our thoughts with the class.

Some of our observations were as follows; I see a nest. I see a beak. I see a tail. I see a tree.

The children were also able to draw their observations as they sat watching the nest and birds in the  tree.
